Buckland House

This historic renovation project, which received a prestigious historic preservation award from the City of Jacksonville, transformed the Buckland House into offices for Riverside Avondale Preservation. As the architect's first project under her license, it demonstrated a commitment to preserving architectural heritage while adapting spaces for modern use.

The comprehensive renovation included a new deck, kitchen, and ADA-compliant bathroom, along with extensive interior and exterior updates.

All modifications, including windows, doors, and siding, were carefully selected to match the building's original character, while new roofing enhanced protection of the historic structure. Interior and exterior color selections were made with historical accuracy in mind, and life safety diagrams were created to ensure code compliance.

The project successfully met state requirements for grant funding, serving as both a preservation achievement and a functional headquarters for community preservation efforts.

She is very thoughtful and deliberate yet flexible in her decisions. Her professionalism and knowledge in her field was very helpful in handling the fine details that went into the project. I would highly recommend working with her and hope to do so again in the future.
